Each person with dementia is different: when it comes to offering support, different things are helpful for different people. Getting to know someone with dementia is really important to be able to support them well. People living with Dementia do retain the passive ability to communicate. We can tailor their story to recreate their world bringing back their memories on a tablet or smart phone, which in turn will challenge negative attitudes and stigma. Carers can help them configure the system in a way in which it will personalize their interests and preferences, which in turn support health and manage risks.

DementiaCare online – My World is aimed not only at people living with dementia, but also at managers and staff in the care sector, and those who organize activities for people with dementia. It's a plain ICT platform using mainstream technologies – you don't need to be technically minded.

My world has screen icons like My Music, My Films, My Documentaries, My Hobbies, My Memories and My Family. Once users choose the desired feature it shows a list. It uses dementia friendly technology to create their own world and stay in touch with their friends and family via chat or video facilities or enjoy hobbies or listening to their favourite music. These activities will benefit people with dementia and they will express less anxiety or aggression.

Mind games are mostly intended to improve thinking capability of people living with Dementia. Games for people with Alzheimer’s / Dementia can be low-tech, high-tech, or anything in between. E.g. Bingo has been shown to have positive effects when played by Alzheimer’s and other person with Dementia. Mind games should be enjoyed every day by people of all ages, so it certainly is age-appropriate; and it is easy to understand and play, so it is stage-specific for anyone except those in the very last stages of the disease. It requires that the person distinguish and match colours and shapes, so it is beneficial at a cognitive level. A combination of games which involves various skill evaluations will be desirable. Care plan provides direction for individual care imparted to a patient. A care plan flows from each patient's unique list of diagnoses and is usually organized by the individual's specific needs. The care plan is a means of communicating and organizing the actions of changing nursing staff. Care Plans provide an easy way to organize and maintain the needs of a patient even between shift changes of the nursing staff. The care plan specifically outlines observations to be made, nursing actions to be carried out and instructions to the client or family members, if necessary.

Customizable Assessment templates enable carers to modify and store assessment templates according to their needs. The system allows basic templates to be amended, or used as is, by furnishing necessary information and saving the changes. Each time the assessment is amended, the latest amendment will be shown in the system and the previous versions will be archived to the respective service user’s Document Library.

The Document Library feature enables carers to store all documents, lab reports, Scan reports etc. pertaining to the Service user, for future reference. It also allows easy access to documents and images of service users. The document library access is strictly based on security roles as defined by the carer or authorized person.

The Care Organizer helps care staff to keep track of assessments and care plans due, along with the due date and time, through proper reminders. The organizer also helps service users to identify their needs thus enabling timely attention and care leading to failsafe care and satisfaction. Care Plans are highly portable and can be accessed from anywhere through tablets and other mobile devices.
