The main objective of ‘Get to know me’ is, finding out about someone’s life or interests of elderly or Dementia patients, by following a series of simple questions, to be answered by them, Carer or their relatives. Know about my cultural background? This will help to manage support and improve their lives.

This helps Carer configure the system in a way in which it will solely confine to their interests and likings. This ‘My World’ is set to support health and manage risks.

The interests of the person will be initially monitored through Audit trail and the type of programs which they like best could be set as default, along with a library of other similar files which they had frequently accessed. This enables user to go directly to what they like to see, hear or experience at a touch of button.

As the users will be busy with activities either online or offline, it will require less of Carers time or services.

My world has touch screen boxes like My Music, My Films, My Documentaries, My Hobbies, My Memories and My Family. Once users touch the desired feature it opens up with the list.

Mind games are mostly intended to improve thinking capability of people suffering from Dementia. Games for people with Alzheimer’s / Dementia can be low-tech, high-tech, or anything in between. E.g. Bingo has been shown to have positive effects when played by Alzheimer’s and other dementia patients. Mind games should be enjoyed every day by people of all ages, so it certainly is age-appropriate; and it is easy to understand and play, so it is stage-specific for anyone except those in the very last stages of the disease. It requires that the person distinguish and match colours and shapes, so it is beneficial at a cognitive level. A combination of games which involves various skill evaluations will be desirable.
